The Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department and the Town of Blacksburg present the 2024 Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at the Blacksburg Municipal Park starting at 6:00 PM.

Schedule:
• 6:30-7:00 PM: Blacksburg Community Band performs
• 7:30-9:30 PM: Root Down performs
• 9:30 PM: Fireworks Show begins

Enjoy live music with a limited number of food vendors before everyone's favorite annual Fireworks Show starting at 9:30 PM.

Root Down is a jazz band based in Blacksburg, VA that often diverges into funk, blues, soul featuring talented local musicians including Justin Craig.

The Blacksburg Community Band, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization formed in 1989 under the auspices of the Department of Parks and Recreation in the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia.

The ensemble is open to individuals of all ages and ability levels from the New River Valley and surrounding areas and performs in an average of 20 concerts each year throughout the New River Valley. The band was incorporated in Virginia as a non-profit corporation in 2007.
