Biography:
Chartered in 1981, Blacksburg Alumnae remains dedicated to Delta Sigma Theta's traditions of Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service, and strives toward making a difference in the lives of New River Valley, VA residents through public service.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the largest African-American women’s organization in the world, was founded by 22 college women in 1913 on the campus of Howard University. Today, the sorority boasts a membership of over 200,000 women in the United States and abroad, dedicated to public service through our Five Point Thrusts:
• Educational Development
• Economic Development
• Political Awareness and Involvement
• International Awareness and Involvement
• Mental and Physical Health
