The New River Blues Society presents the Reverend Billy C. Wirtz performing as part of his Music, Humor, and History Tour on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Pulaski Theatre.

Get ready for an afternoon of outrageous humor, masterful piano playing, and unforgettable entertainment as Reverend Billy C. Wirtz takes the stage at the historic Pulaski Theatre!

A longtime favorite on the blues and festival circuit, Rev. Billy C. Wirtz blends boogie-woogie piano, blues, storytelling, and comedy into a one-of-a-kind live show. Often described as part musician, part comedian, and all-around entertainer, his performances have earned a devoted following across the country.

Reverend Billy C. Wirtz is a legendary comic genius, gifted pianist and American musicologist who defies easy classification. I like to think of myself as the Victor Borge of the blues, states the Reverend, but Billy goes way beyond Borge both in scope of subject matter (from politics to social commentary) and, of course, in taste.

In fact, no theme is too extreme, taboo, or undignified for the Reverend, so long as it garners a good laugh. Playing Boogie-Woogie blues piano, The Reverend sometimes irreverent and always hugely entertaining shows are not to be missed!

Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $15.00 at the door.

The New River Blues Society formed to help keep traditional blues alive in the New River Valley and surrounding area is a 501(c)3 is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to keep the Blues alive by providing an organization to teach, share, and promote the Blues in the New River Valley.
