Nursery Natives presents the inaugural New River Day Music Celebration with Neal Wyms & Bluesy Soul followed by Noah Spencer on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Long Way Brewing in Radford, VA.
Enjoy an evening of live music featuring Neal Wyms & Bluesy Soul (2:00-5:00 PM) and Noah Spencer (6:00-9:00 PM) with local eats by L5 & Company Food Truck for those looking to purchase food from 12:00-8:00 PM.
Neal Skieebo Wyms is a singer, song writer, blues extraordinaire and multi-instrumentalist who hails from Radford, VA and has performed professionally for most of his life. His music ranges from blues, soul, country, R&B, pop, and even some jazz as well as gospel.
Self taught, he plays all the instruments and sings all vocals on his recorded works to date. Neal has taken up guitar playing and added instruments to his repertoire including bass, keyboards, piano, drums, and harmonica. His blues influences are Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Lightning Hopkins, Elmore James and Keb Mo among others. He sings original songs and covers from artists such as John Mayer, Bill Withers, Leon Bridges, BB King, Kembo and Prince.
Neal discovered his gift for music and performing during his childhood years. His career has spanned over 30+ years. Neal has toured with female jazz vocalist, Miss Jane Powell, and has played bass for several top 40 bands and jazz combos including pop group Arrested Development, Bobby Brown's group Smooth Silk and legendary blues and soul artist Clarence Carter and William Bell.

Noah Spencer is an up and coming musician from Richlands in Southwest Virginia. He brings a genuine passion to the stage with a voice that's both soft and smooth, but also gritty and soulful. His shows cover a wide range of styles from country to rock, Americana, pop, and gospel. He enjoys singing and playing guitar, drums, piano and the ukulele. He loves to entertain and is always ready to play.
Noah was also a contestant and starred on NBC's "The Voice" in Season 24 advancing to the playoff rounds.
Noah started singing in church when he was 5 years old and picked up his first guitar when he was 11. From there he also picked up drums, piano, bass and even ukulele. He stays busy year round with school and sports, but his ultimate passion is playing music and performing any time he has the chance. His musical influences are broad and include artists from many genres including David Crowder, Shane and Shane, Zac Brown, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Tyler Childers, Chris Stapleton and Jack Johnson just to name a few.

Guests will receive $1.00 off pints for happy hours from 3:00-5:00 PM in honor of New River Day!
The inaugural New River Day community paddle/float, cookout & river cleanup is free and open to all.
The inaugural paddle & float will begin at Riverview Park, and finishing at Bisset Park Shelter #3, where a free cookout will be provided to guests, courtesy of Ameriprise Financial of Radford. Attendees will be encouraged to practice stewardship by picking up trash on this community adventure, celebrating the beloved New River.
Community members will gather at Riverview Park 2501 River Street in Radford, VA at 10:00 AM, and begin the paddle at 10:30 AM. The group will paddle to Shelter 3 at Bisset Park where free burgers and hotdogs will be served from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM.
This event is presented by Nursery Natives, in collaboration with the New River Conservancy, Scouts Troop 46 of Radford, and Long Way Brewing, and sponsored by Ameriprise Financial of Radford.
