The Partnership for Floyd presents the free Floyd Community Rural Skill Workshop titled "All About Chainsaws" on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Floyd EcoVillage's campground area.

Learn from Paul Kitchen, a certified sawyer with the Blue Ridge Parkway. He is an experienced, excellent teacher!

The Workshop will include:
• Types of saws. Small or big? Gas or battery?
• Saw chain types, lengths, uses and sharpening
• Equipment and use
• Safety equipment
• Differences in cutting a high branch, a fallen tree, a leaning tree or a standing tree
• Chainsaw maintenance

Admission is free.

The Partnership for Floyd is a diverse group of citizens working to preserve and enhance the unique beauty and quality of life in the Town of Floyd and its surroundings.
