The Polo Club at Virginia Tech presents the Annual Mercedes Cup featuring a polo match with Virginia Tech hosting the University of Virginia on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at the Alphin-Stuart Livestock Arena on the campus of Virginia Tech.

Event Schedule:
• 12:00 PM: Doors open
• 12:30 PM: Quick Rundown on Polo & Rules of the Game
• 1:00 PM: Polo Match begins with Chukkers 1
• ~1:30 PM: Halftime
• 2:00 PM: Polo Match Continues with Chukkers 3 & 4
• 2:45 PM: Award Ceremony

Watch Virginia Tech polo take on the UVA Club team! The fun will begin at 12:30 PM when our announcer and referee will give a quick rundown of the four basic shots of polo and the rules of the game. Polo players will begin to warm up ponies at this time as well. This a great time to grab food and bid on a silent auction basket.

At 1:00 PM, you will hear an announcement to take your seats, the first chukker will be starting soon.

At halftime (starting around 1:30 PM), swing on over to the left goal and see if you can hit a ball off of Woody, the mallet horse. After you’ve scored, come over to centerfield to Meet Magic and snap a picture. This is also a great time to check out stop by the Vendor Village.

After halftime (starting around 2:00 PM), cheer on your Hokies as they take on UVA again for Chukkers 3 & 4. Concluding the evening will be an Award Ceremony starting at 2:45 PM.
