Claytor Lake State Park presents a Vernal Pool Hike on Friday, March 6, 2026.

Where do our amphibians and reptiles live? Ever heard of fairy shrimp? Join our rangers as we explore vernal pools, learn why they’re so important, and head out to a vernal pool to look for frogs, salamanders, and turtles!

The event is free, but the $7.00 state park parking fee still applies per each vehicle.

Claytor Lake State Park is located at 6620 Ben H. Bolen Drive in Dublin, VA.
