The Alexander Black House & Cultural Center presents Holiday Open House and Winter Solstice Workshop Kickoff on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Schedule of Events:
• 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Winter Solstice Workshops
• 12:00-4:00 PM: Santa and Photos

Kick off the holiday season with a Victorian Christmas celebration at one of Blacksburg's oldest houses. Sip wassail punch while creating one of a kind handmade gifts during our Winter Solstice Workshops, pass you list to Santa and strike a pose for a winter holiday worthy photo!

Join us for the first of our Winter Solstice Workshops occurring on the first three Saturdays of December. Enjoy a day of creativity and festive cheer!

Workshops include:
• String popcorn & cranberries
• Make Victorian pin prick cards
• Upcycled Christmas Cards: Turn Christmas cards into gift boxes
• Craft your own Christmas cracker (small toy & joke included)

In addition, gather around the tree for photos and a Victorian Santa Claus from 12:00-4:00 PM

Admission is free and no reservation required.

Bring a friend, bring the children or simply bring your festive spirit. We can’t wait to make some winter magic with you!
