Description:
The Filipino American Student Association at Virginia Tech presents their 37th Annual Culture Show titled "Paglalaban" on Sunday, April 27, 2025 inside Burruss Auditorium on the campus of Virginia Tech.
This year’s theme is “Paglalaban,” a word in Tagalog which roughly translates to “fight” in English. Follow the struggle of two star crossed lovers, Althea and Juan, during the Spanish colonization era of the Philippines.
Throughout the story, we follow a Filipina native, Althea, who experiences the classic, stereotypical father-daughter dilemma. Furthermore, we also encounter a Spanish man who questions the ethics of the Spanish Colonial Administration. Additionally, we have performances ready to showcase such as modern and traditional dance, musical performance, and our lovely fashion show.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Additionally, there will be sponsored raffles and FASA merchandise available for sale.
Doors open at 4:00 PM and the performance begins at 4:30 PM.
