The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine presents their Annual Open House on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

Explore the world of veterinary medicine and public health with exciting activities for all ages with a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, demonstrations, lectures, and interactive club booths. Experience how the veterinary college serves Virginia Tech and the surrounding community. Meet faculty, tour the college, learn about our programs and enjoy the activities.

The HokieBird will be onsite from 12:00-2:00 PM and there will also be a special Egg Hunt at this time. Take a photo, hunt for eggs, hug & high five the Hokie Bird!

Egg Hunt Schedule:
• 12:00-1:00 PM: Kids 6 Years & Under
• 1:00-2:00 PM: Kids Ages 7-13

• Inflatable Colon Walk Through

• Snuffle Mat Making
• Stuffed Animal Adoption and Cow Model Palpations

• Horseshoeing Making Demo & Display at 10:00-11:00 AM and 2:00-3:00 PM
• VT Police Ringo the Patrol Pony Demo at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM
• Applying to Veterinary School: What You Need to Know at 11:00 AM
• Virginia Tech Police K9 Demos at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM
• A Day In The Life of a Vet Student Talk at 1:00 PM

Take a tour with exclusive access to the college's behind-the-scenes facilities and Veterinary Teaching Hospital! Led by students, tours in groups of ten leave the commons every 15 minutes.

Admission is free and the event is open to the community and family-friendly.

Food trucks on-site include: Cabo Fish Taco, Empanada Nirvana, Green Leaf Vegan Kitchen and the Coca-Cola Beverage Tent. Space Rabbit Coffee will be setup inside.

There are several parking lots near the college, but we recommend parking in the Veterinary Medicine Lot across from the college or the Duck Pond Lot.

Golf carts will be available all day to shuttle participants from the parking lot to the front and back of the building.

Note: For the safety of patients at the hospital and open house demonstration animals, we ask that guests do not bring pets to the event.

The VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine is located at 205 Duck Pond Drive in Blacksburg, VA on the campus of Virginia Tech.
