Nursery Natives presents the 2nd Annual New River PawpawFest 2024 on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Nesselrod on the New in Fairlawn, VA.
The New River PawpawFest is a music festival supporting ecological restoration, Appalachian culture, food security & food sovereignty. Celebrating North America's largest (and tastiest) native fruit, the Pawpaw!
The festival includes free Pawpaw fruit tastings at 12:00 PM, 2:15 PM and 3:45 PM and the inaugural "Pies to Thrive" Community Bake-Off! Featuring over 30 local vendors, guests will have the opportunity to connect with an array of local artisans, crafters, educators, authors, and creators through the day.
Featuring musical performances from Whitney Mongé & Ben Balmer, Drew Foust and the Wheelhouse, Bunco, Solacoustix, Raistlin Brabson & Margo Macsweeney, Breakfast at Noon, Neal "Skieebo" Wyms, Ash Devine & Aaron Geller, Trio Flux & Bruce Coluccio, Bradley Steele, Emma Ruth Shirey and many more!
With food & beverages by Driftwood Catering, Jah'Kater Kitchen, The Chocolate Spike, Empanadas Meraki, Dobbins Hollow Winery & Cidery, River City Distillery and Long Way Brewing.
There will also be plants available to purchase by local growers including Wood Thrush Native Nursery, Draper Springs Nursery & Gardens, Gabriella the Garden Sage, Ninebark Nursery, Feeding Appalachia, Pawpaw Planet and many more.
Tickets are $20.00 in advance for adults and $25.00 at the gate and are $12.00 in advance for youth and $15.00 at the gate. Golden Hour tickets are also available which allows attendees to explore the grounds of Nesselrod from 10:15 AM - 12:00 PM for just $5.00.
