Headlining Saturday’s literary activities will be award-winning Southern writer Sharyn McCrumb, best known for her Appalachian "Ballad' novels, including the New York Times best seller, "She Walks These Hills," an Ostenaco Native American Performance by Doug Wood and an Author Talk with New York Times bestselling historical fiction author Kathleen Grissom who wrote "Crow Mary" and book club classics "The Kitchen House" and "Glory Over Everything".

Also enjoy musical performances from Kim & Jimbo Cary, museum tours, Floyd Historical Dancers, blacksmith demo, old time photoshoot with the Radford Photo Club, kids tent with special activities, petting zoo, historical clothing interpreter, artisan vendors, Kirk's BBQ and Lizard Licks Snow Cones food trucks, gallery exhibit and more!

Doug Wood honors his Cherokee ancestors by telling the story of the efforts of Ostenaco during the French and Indian War. This military leader recruited warriors, led war parties and conducted diplomatic missions. In the winter of 1756, he led an army of Cherokees against the Shawnees, the tribal nation responsible for the attack on the village of Mary Draper Ingles at Draper’s Meadow.

The Gift Shop will also be open and features a good assortment of items themed on the frontierswoman. And, the Mary Draper Ingles statue and train observatory will also be open from dawn to dusk.

All events are free and family appropriate.

Glencoe Mansion, Museum & Gallery is located at 600 Unruh Drive in Radford, VA.
