The Shawsville Ruritan Club and the Eastmont Foundation presents The 39th Annual Shawsville Independence Day / Waldron Fitness 5K starting and finishing in-person at Old Town Fields (Shawsville Middle School rec area) on Saturday, July 3, 2021 or run it virtually sometime between Thursday, July 1, 2021 to Sunday, July 4, 2021.

In-Person Schedule:
• 6:30-7:45 AM: Race Day Registration
• 8:00 AM: 5K Starts

Choose to run the race in person on July 3rd or run virtually sometime between July 1st through July 4th. This race is sponsored by the Shawsville Ruritan Club and the Eastmont Foundation. All proceeds help to support running programs as well as scholarships at the local high school. We have tried to keep our entry fees low enough for all to participate.

Participants can expect fruit, melons, and water refreshments as well as many valuable door prizes. T-shirts will also be given to participants (guaranteed for registrants by Friday, June 25th) and can be picked up at the Waldron Fitness Center front desk in Shawsville, VA. The race is broken down into five-year-span age groups. First through third place finishers in each age group will receive a medal.

The Shawsville 5K course is one of the flattest road courses in the area. The course is essentially a simple loop through and around Shawsville. There is one small hill at ~2.5 miles followed by a long gentle downhill to the finish.

Registration can be made online by Friday, June 25th, in-person at the Waldron Fitness Center or in-person the day of the race.
