Every set in the exhibit is designed to scale with the size of the trains and models the Norfolk & Western transition period of the 1950s and 1960s. The meticulous detail of the scenery is modeled on the hills, valleys, and industry of Southwest Virginia. Visitors, both young and old are allowed to run the trains around the layout and be the conductor for the day.

The display delights kids of all ages.

Admission is free and is open to the public.

The NRVMRR is a group that builds and operates a modular, HO scale layout railroad models. Each module is built by a different member, and is assembled at various shows throughout Virginia.
