Cancer Kids and Christmas presents the 2019 Benefit Concert and Hot Dog Dinner on Friday, November 15, 2019 inside the Pearisburg Community Center.
Schedule:
• 5:00 pm: Hot Dog Dinner starts
• 6:00 pm: Taylor Wilson performance
• 7:00 pm: Terry Mullins and Dwayne Gilpin performance
• 8:00 pm: Bobby Smith and Tim Dawson from Cimmaron with Melody Irby from Uptown Band performance
Enjoy a hot dog dinner which includes two hot dogs, bake beans, and chips and multiple country music performances including Dwayne Gilpin, Taylor Wilson, Terry Mullins and members of Cimmaron and Uptown Band.
Admission is $6.00 and includes the live music and hot dog dinner. Take-out hot dog dinners will also be available for $6.00.
On Saturday, Cancer Kids and Christmas will be holding their Main Event at the Pearisburg Community Center starting at 8:00 am featuring Breakfast with Santa, live music, food, Auction, Kids Zone, bake sale and vendors. Cancer Kids and Christmas is a local organization that has helped more than 60 families who are battling cancer have a better Christmas since 2012 raising over $165,000. 100% of the proceeds and donations are donated to the families each year.
Cancer, Kids, and Christmas was founded in 2012 by Travis Sparks after his own battle with cancer and seeing firsthand the strain it put on his own family. He saw that without the help of family and friends, his immediate family may have felt the financial strains to the point of bankruptcy. That would have meant that there would certainly have been no Christmas that year.
We provide our cancer families with the majority of all monies raised through our events. With zero dollars going to administrative fees, our Board of Directors are all serving (donating their time) with no compensation from the organization.
