The Virginia Tech Welcome Back Kickoff Concert featuring Sage the Gemini and and first Spirit Rally of the 2014 football season for the William & Mary game will be held on Friday, August 29th on College Avenue in downtown Blacksburg, VA.

The Spirit Rally presented by the Virginia Tech Student Alumni Associates will feature free food, giveaways, performances by the Low Techs and more. The evening begins with the Spirit Rally starting at 6 pm followed by the Kickoff Concert.

The VT Class of 2016 presents the Welcome Back Kickoff Concert featuring music from headliner Sage the Gemini, The Band Concord and DJ TMMPO.

Sage the Gemini is a hip hop artist from Fairfield, California who performs solo and with the group The HBK Gang. He is best known for his two Hot 100 hits "Gas Pedal" and "Red Nose". His debut studio album "Remember Me" was released on March 25, 2014.

The Band Concord is an Americana band based out of Blacksburg, Virginia. The quintet includes influences such as The Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes, The Head and the Heart and The Lumineers. Fun lyrics and great sounds from the guitar, mandolin and banjo!

The five-piece band debuted at Virginia Tech’s Soundfest in May of 2013. Since playing for hundreds of their peers, various pieces of The Band Concord puzzle have performed along the East Coast, from restaurants and breweries to pavilions and festivals, and they do not plan on slowing down anytime soon.
