The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents the Virginia Tech Philharmonic Soloist Competition Winner Concert on Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.

Mary Wright (voice), and Miranda Hughes (marimba), winners in the VT Soloist Competition, will perform with the VT Philharmonic under the baton of Mathias Elmer.

The program includes:
• Three Love Letters by Adam Hochstatter (commissioned by the VT Philharmonic Orchestra
• Una voce poco fa by G. Rossini from "Il Barbiere di Sivilglia" Mary Wright, voice
• Per lui che adoro by G. Rossini from "L'Italiana in Algeri" Mary Wright, voice
• Concerto for Marimba and Strings by E. Séjourné Mirandda Hughes, marimba
• Symphony No. 5 in D minor, op. 47 by D. Shostakovich
