Discoveries made here have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.
Thanks to the generous support of the community, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. To date, treatments invented at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 to 80 percent since it opened 50 years ago.
Roanoke ESA Chapters will also be assisting with the walk. Sponsors include the New River Valley Mall and Chick-Fil-A.
