Join the Virginia Tech Campus Tree Planting near English Baseball Field and the VT Hedge on Thursday, September 19th.

Rise and shine it’s tree plantin’ time! This planting will provide a beautiful tree background to the iconic VT hedge.

The National Arbor Day Foundation selected Virginia Tech for “Tree Campus USA” status in 2008 (the inaugural year of this program) and provided funds for the planting of 100 native trees. Over the past 5 years the university has planted over 100 additional trees during “Celebrate Sustainability” in the fall, and “Earth Week” during the spring. Both of these events have directly contributed to the university receiving annual “Tree Campus USA” recertification.

Please join faculty, staff, and students from across campus in planting a dozen native trees.

You may park in THE CAGE LOT (You’ll need your parking hang tag or for visitors, a
visitor tag from the Visitor Center off of Prices Fork Road.

Tools will be provided including shovels and gloves courtesy of the VT Engage ‘Hokie
Hands’ trailer. Please wear closed toe shoes.

Planting should be complete by 4 pm Arrive whenever you can and stay as long as
you’d like.
