Biography:

Floyd is a town located in Floyd County, Virginia. The Town of Floyd was originally named Jacksonville as the surrounding county was formed during the tenure of President Andrew Jackson in 1834. The town was incorporated in 1858 and its name was changed from Jacksonville to Floyd in 1896 for Virginia governor John Floyd.
