Virginia Tech and the Town of Blacksburg’s 2026 Summer Arts Festival proudly presents Root Down in concert on the Henderson Lawn in downtown Blacksburg, VA on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Root Down is a jazz band based in Blacksburg, VA that often diverges into funk, blues, soul featuring talented local musicians including Justin Craig.
Known for their soulful grooves, tight interplay, and fresh takes on jazz standards, this dynamic local trio brings an inviting, laid-back energy. Whether you're a longtime jazz lover or just looking for the perfect midweek vibe, Root Down Trio sets the tone with smooth melodies, deep rhythms, and plenty of improvisational flair.
