Chateau Morrisette presents their Canine Costume Contest and Pet Adoption Day on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

Schedule:
• 11:00 am: Adoptable Pets welcome visitors
• 1:00-4:00 pm: Sunday Sounds with Kat Mills
• 1:30 pm: Canine Costume Registration begins
• 2:30 pm: Canine Contestants Line-Up
• 3:00 pm: Canine Parade and Judging

Noble, Chateau Morrisette's winery Black Dog, celebrates his 4th birthday with a Canine Costume Contest benefiting Floyd County Humane Society (FCHS) and a Pet Adoption Day with adoptable pets visiting from FCHS and other area animal shelters along with multiple vendors!

Top three costumed dogs' humans win up to $100.00 in gift certificates to the winery and restaurant for first place, $50.00 for second and choice of any Tasting Room t-shirt for third place. There is a $5.00 entrance fee which will be donated entirely to Floyd County Humane Society. Floyd County Humane Society has helped reduce euthanizations in the county by over 80%! All pet entrants will get a doggy gift bag.

Contestants will gather on the crush pad patio and line up for the parade and judging. Volunteers from Floyd Humane will serve as judges. Entrants will be judged on Creativity (40%), Presentation (30%), Humor (10%), and Audience Impact (20%).

After the contest, humans will celebrate with birthday cake!

In addition, author Cara Achterberg will have her book "Another Good Dog" available for purchase and signing. The book is a warm and entertaining memoir about what happens when you foster 50 dogs in less than two years and how the dogs save you as much as you save them.

Dogs must be leashed at all times and rabies and vaccinations must be current. No aggressive dogs will be allowed to enter. Costumes must be safe and comfortable for the dogs.
