The Virginia Tech School of Performing Arts presents Resonance On The Walls II featuring percussionist Annie Stevens and the Virginia Tech Percussion Ensemble on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at The Cube wihtin the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech.
Annie Stevens will present a faculty recital alongside her students in the Virginia Tech Percussion Ensemble. A unique concert that will utilize the many multimedia capabilities of the CUBE, this concert will feature many solo percussion works with accompanying fixed media, as well as works for percussion ensemble.
The program includes a world premiere performance of Drew Worden's, "Volume of a Cube" for 18 percussionists, commissioned by the Virginia Tech Percussion Ensemble. The ensemble will also perform Robert Honstein's "An Index of Possibility" with accompanying film developed by the cinema students of Charles Dye. Annie Stevens will also be performing "One Study" by John Psathas for solo marimba, "Temazcal" by Javier Alvarez for solo maracas, and "Kin" for multiple percussion instruments by Daniel Wohl.
