Springhouse and the Partnership for Floyd presents the 2024 Earth Day Celebration and Procession of Appalachian Species on Saturday, April 20, 2024 with events centered around Warren G. Lineberry Memorial Park in Floyd, VA.

Event Schedule:
• 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Presentations and Workshops in the Park
• 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Music by the Handmade Music School and the Koviks
• 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Trashy Fashion Show
• 1:00-3:00 PM: Procession starts through streets of Floyd
• 3:00-4:00 PM: Free Ice Cream Social

Celebrate Earth Day! Enjoy presentations and workshops in the park from 12 local organizations, live music from the Handmade Music School and the Koviks, a Trashy Fashion Show on stage, Procession of Appalachian Species (Giant Puppet Parade), a free ice cream social from the Partnership for Floyd and more!

The Procession of Appalachian Species will take place from 1:00-3:00 PM, parading through the Town of Floyd. Each year Springhouse celebrates the great biodiversity of our region by building and parading with giant puppets. These puppets are a way of honoring and highlighting these amazing creatures in an attempt to bring consciousness and conservation to this immense resource in our region.

Local organizations will be offering nature workshops, free wildflower seeds, fruit trees, treasure hunts, print-making with Springhouse and much more!

The Earth Day event will close out with Partnership for Floyd’s 20th anniversary celebration with a free ice cream social at 3:30 PM in the park. Join us to celebrate this special milestone!

Admission is free and all are welcome.
