The Shawsville Ruritan Club presents The 38th Annual Shawsville Independence Day 5K and Kids One Mile Fun Run starting and finishing at Shawsville Middle School on Thursday, July 4, 2019.

Schedule:
• 6:30-7:30 am: Race Day Registration
• 8:00 am: 5K & One Mile Fun Run Starts

This race is sponsored by the Shawsville Ruritan Club. All proceeds help to support running programs as well as scholarships at the local high school. We have tried to keep our entry fees low enough for all to participate.

Participants can expect fruit, melons, and water refreshments as well as many valuable door prizes. The race is broken down into five-year-span age groups. First through third place finishers in each age group receive a medal.

The Shawsville 5K course is one of the flattest road courses in the area. The course is essentially a simple loop through and around Shawsville. There is one small hill at ~2.5 miles followed by a long gentle downhill to the finish.

Registration is made in-person the day of the race, by mailing in the registration form or at the Waldron Fitness Center in Shawsville by Monday, July 2, 2019.

The One Mile Fun Run takes place at the same time as the 5k competition.
