Description:
622 North presents The Southern Belles with special guests BYOG in concert on Saturday, October 8, 2016.

The Southern Belles are a tasty combination of boot-slapping Honky-Tonk, tobaccy-spitting Country Rock, panty-dropping Electric Bluegrass, Boom-Chuck that'll make you upchuck, and Psychedelic Jams that make hard drugs look as soft as a baby's bottom. With this rock-n-roll quartet you won't be able to stop the sweat from dripping down your face and ass, and you'll like it too!

The Southern Belles creates a perfect union of originals and covers, vocal-driven tunes and instrumental jamming, restraint and freedom, fun and professionalism. Their ability to instinctively communicate with one another was apparent right from the start, but as they've continued to play together this cultured ability has grown exponentially. So do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this interactive musical experience for people of all ages, shapes and sizes.

BYOG began as a funk-rock instrumental ensemble with a small, loyal following in the Charleston, South Carolina area. But the band had a vision of being able to do more musically than their instrumental format allowed. Fortuitously, in early 2013, fate brought together musicians, J.P. Treadaway (drums) , Phil Pasquini (keyboards), David Buck (lead guitar) and singer/songwriter, Blake Zahnd (lead singer/guitar), at a benefit show where all were performing. The musical connection was immediate and electric. All knew that a new chapter was about to begin.

Six months later, armed with a suitcase full of original songs, the band flew to Austin, Texas to record at Willie Nelson’s renowned Arlyn Studios. The result was Out Of The Dark, a collection of hook-laden rock and roll that showcased the band’s potential. Since that time, the band has continued to fine-tune their sound. Bluesy B-3 and piano keyboards, gritty guitar work, unforgettable melodies, intelligent lyrics and a driving funky back beat are the hallmarks of BYOG.

Live shows are a high-energy dance party! Along with their original material, BYOG has mined the archives of rock history to include an eclectic array of covers. Dispersed throughout their performances, these gems include seldom-heard songs from the likes of Allen Toussaint, The Band and Little Feat, to name a few.

BYOG has been steadily touring the Southeast, opening for performers such as Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Devon Allman and legendary Allman Brothers drummer, Butch Trucks. BYOG is David Buck, Phil Pasquini, JP Treadaway, Blake Zahnd, and Cory Takack.
