Rising Silo Farm Brewery presents the Marian McLaughlin Trio in concert on Thursday, August 25, 2016.

Marian McLaughlin is a songwriter, singer, and guitarist pushing the boundaries of folk music. Weaving together imaginative lyrics, intricate classical guitar work, and rhapsodic delivery she creates songs of exquisite detail that are delicate, yet full of depth.

The Marian McLaughlin Trio is the newest form McLaughlin's music has taken for live performance, as McLaughlin (vocals, nylon-string guitar) and multi-instrumentalist Ethan Foote (double bass, 12-string guitar) are joined by the immensely talented cellist-vocalist Katie Weissman.

Achieving a remarkable range of sound for its small size, the trio distills the lush instrumentation of McLaughlin's recording output (strings, winds, percussion, electric guitars) into concentrated form, offering a musical experience at once intimate and expansive. The group has toured the eastern United States extensively, drawing widespread praise for its exceptional musicianship and adventurous interpretations of McLaughlin's songs.

A dinner by donation will be shared beginning at 6 pm, followed by a musical performance between 7-9 pm.

There is no cover fee, you are welcome to make a $5.00-10.00 contribution to the group in assisting travel costs.

All are welcome, but we ask that you please consider leaving your canine pal at home for this evening's concert, mostly for the sake of unsolicited barking or howling, woof!
