The 13th Annual Henry Reed Memorial Fiddlers Conventions will be held on Friday, June 12th and Saturday, June 13th at the Newport Recreation Center.

This Crooked Road affiliated festival celebrates the life and music of the legendary fiddler Henry Reed who lived in Southwest Virginia. This is a family-friendly event that encourages the whole family to attend!

Saturday Line-Up (starting at 3 pm):
• Individual Musician Competitions
• Old-Time Band Competition
• Bluegrass Band Competition

Competition Categories include:
Guitar (old-time & bluegrass), Fiddle (old-time & bluegrass), Banjo (old-time & bluegrass), Banjo-Fiddle Duet, Mandolin, Bass, Dulcimer, Folk Song, & Dance.

Competitors can get a festival t-shirt or $10 back after they compete. No pre-registration is necessary to compete, you can sign up on-site.

Alan Jabbour will offer a two day Fiddle Workshop on Friday & Saturday from 10 am - 12 pm each day. This workshop will focus on Henry Reed's style & techniques, there is an additional fee to attend the workshop.

Food and craft vendors will be available on-site on both Friday & Saturday.

Camping will be available for $10 (primitive) or $15 (electric) per night and is available beginning on Thursday, June 11th.
