The Radford Heritage Foundation will host “Celebrate Radford” at Glencoe Museum on Saturday, May 30th from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.

“Celebrate Radford” is an affordable, family-friendly event that showcases the heritage and culture of our city and region. The event will appeal to both history buffs and family members of all ages.

Visitors can see and learn about different aspects of life in the past from history interpreters, hands-on activities, and exhibits. There will be vintage automobiles, live animals, craft demonstrations including blacksmithing. Children’s activities include games and crafts. There will also be a photographer taking vintage-style pictures for purchase from 10:30 am until 2:30 pm.

The event will also have affordable foods for purchase from Donna Jones of Main Street Bistro, including her famous cinnamon buns. The live music kicks off at 10:30 am.

• 12:30 pm - Gravel Road
• 1:30 pm - Sam Leary & Friends

“Celebrate Radford 2015” is a celebration of all that has made the City and the region. Special focus will be on the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War, including Jeff and Dottie Brown who will speak on daily life for Civil War soldiers and Bob Whisonant who has just published a book on the Civil War in Virginia. Nancy Kent will be at the event to show and teach visitors about the natural beauty of Radford’s Wildwood Park.

There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome. Free parking is available.
