Junior Sisk's songwriting talent help propel The Lonesome River Band to Bluegrass stardom in the early 1990s. Then he became a member of Wyatt Rice & Santa Cruz and then ultimately Blueridge, before forming his own band in 1998. Junior Sisk was 2013 International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Male Vocalist of the Year.

From pure Gospel, to traditional and contemporary Bluegrass, to their own orginial songs, Rich in Tradition covers the bases with precision picking, great Harmony singing, and professional presentation.

Rich in Tradition came to be in the spring of 2006; a product of one of the most fertile grounds of traditional Bluegrass, Gospel and Old Time Music in the world; the Mt. Airy - Galax areas of Northwest North Carolina and Southwest Virginia. Rich in Tradition combines a century of rich bluegrass and gospel music experience to make available some of the best picking and singing around. Rich In Tradition were 2013 Appalachian Cultural Music Association (ACMA) Instrumental Group of the Year
