Description:
Historic Smithfield Planatation welcomes authors Jim Glanville and Ryan Mays for a Meet the Authors and Book Signing event on Saturday, April 26th.

Noted local authors Jim Glanville and Ryan Mays will sign copies of the latest edition of the Smithfield Review (Volume 18) which includes Ryan's article on the 18th century Draper family who settled the land around Virginia Tech, and Jim's latest article on the Spanish Conquistadors who entered Southwest Virginia looking for gold in 1567.

Both Fox News and the New York Times reported last summer on excavations of a Spanish fort from that era, built in North Carolina, and which served as a base for the Conquistadors' activities.
