Description:
Cancellation Release:
Highlander Plunge Canceled Because of Inclement Weather After careful assessment of contributing factors related to conducting the Highlander Polar Plunge(r) Celebration, we, in consultation with Radford City Police Department as well as city and university officials, have made the decision to cancel this year's Polar Plunge. The recent winter storm and sub-freezing temperatures create a hazard for plungers, volunteers and spectators. In addition, forecasts are calling for additional snowfall tonight that will increase travel and event hazards.
There will be no makeup date; the many logistical details involved prevent us from rescheduling.
