The Floyd Country Store presents a Story & Song Event featuring Ricky Cox and Friends on Saturday, July 13th.

The first 40-45 minutes of the program will be a talk on Floyd County’s 140+ water-powered mills, illustrated with photographs from "The Water-Powered Mills of Floyd County, VA: Illustrated Histories, 1770-2010" by Frank Webb and Ricky Cox. The remainder of the 90-minute program will be bluegrass and early country songs and tunes, many of which include some reference to mills in their titles or lyrics.

Ricky Cox lives in Floyd County and teaches courses in English and Appalachian Studies at Radford University. The late Frank Webb was born in Floyd County and grew up and lived most of his life in Roanoke, Virginia.

Tickets for the program are $8 and are available at the door.
