The Virginia Native Plant Society New River Chapter presents their March program titled "The Budding Forager’s Guide to Edible Plants in Southwest Virginia" on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 in-person inside the Social Room at the Blacksburg Community Center and available online on Zoom.
Claire Krotoski will be discussing foraging in southwest Virginia. She, Aurora Wood, and Dr. Jordan Metzgar worked together to create a foraging guide for this area titled "The Budding Forager’s Guide to Edible Plants in Southwest Virginia". This presentation will focus on the guide and the process of creating it.

Claire graduated from Virginia Tech in 2025. She studied Ecological Restoration with a minor in Wetland Science. She now works for the Virginia Department of Forestry as an Invasive Species Technician. She has a passion for plant identification, ecology, foraging, and education relating to natural resources and science.
