The Handmade Music School in collaboration with Old Church Gallery and Field Recorders’ Collective presents a Tribute to the Korn Kutters on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at The Floyd Country Store.

Enjoy music by the Korn Kutters Tribute Band featuring George Slusher, Mac Traynham, Andy Buckman and Phil Wooddail with special performances by Handmade Music School students.

The Korn Kutters were a traditional old-time string band from Floyd County, Virginia, led by fiddler Ivan Weddle, known for their rhythmic style popular at local dances and recorded by the Library of Congress in 1978. Key members included Ivan Weddle (fiddle), Willard Clower (banjo), George Slusher (harmonica), and Freeman Slusher (guitar), keeping Appalachian musical traditions alive through performances at places like Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Admission is free and a suggested donation of $10.00 includes a CD.
