The Blacksburg Newcomers Club of the New River Valley is holding their March Meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Blacksburg, VA.

Meeting Schedule:
• 9:00 AM: Doors open/social time
• 9:30 AM: Welcome Announcements
• 9:45 AM: Community Outreach Speaker: Micah's Closet
• 10:10-11:00 AM: Featured Speaker: Michael Hudson, Executive Director, Smithfield-Preston Foundation

Michael ("Mike") Hudson is a native of Lynchburg, VA and has worked in historic sites interpretation and historic site management for 25 years. His academic activities have focused especially on the local history studies of Lynchburg, American Civil War pedagogy, research into the American Revolution, and Latin American cultural scholarship.

Meetings begin with an unstructured social time with coffee & refreshments followed by an informative program beginning with a local speaker from a Community Outreach group. A featured speaker will then highlight an aspect of the New River Valley.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Blacksburg Newcomers Club is a social club connecting those who just arrived in the New River Valley and those who never left.

Parking is easiest in the lower parking lot off of Prices Fork Road.

Doors open 8:55 AM and the meeting is from 9:00-11:30 AM.

Luther Memorial Lutheran Church is located at 600 Prices Fork Road in Blacksburg, VA.
