The New River Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society presents their November 2025 Meeting discussing Flora of the Sweet Springs Natural Area Preserve with Jimmy Francis offered in person at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg, VA and online via Zoom.
Jimmy is Mountain Region Steward for the Division of Natural Heritage. Sweet Springs Preserve is in Montgomery County. It is only open to the public by arranging a visit with Natural Heritage staff. Jimmy has agreed to lead a trip for us, but the date has not yet been selected.

The Virginia Native Plant Society (VNPS), founded in 1982 as the Virginia Wildflower Preservation Society, is a nonprofit organization of individuals who share an interest in Virginia’s native plants and habitats. The Society and its chapters seek to further the appreciation and conservation of this priceless heritage.
The New River Chapter covers the counties of Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe. Towns of Blacksburg, Christiansburg and City of Radford.
