Springhouse Community School presents their 3rd Annual Sourced Press Wayzgoose Printing Festival titled "What Do You Stand For?" on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Event Schedule:
• 12:00-4:00 PM: Letterpress and Poetry Making Workshop
• 4:00-5:30 PM: Community Printing Project
• 6:00-7:00 PM: Irish Meal
• 7:00-8:30 PM: Mist on the Mountain in Concert

The Wayzgoose celebration is a printer’s tradition from the 16th century, celebrating the transition from printing by sunlight to candlelight. This year, we celebrate the connection between our community print shop and Ireland. Inspired by a transformative visit to the National Print Museum of Ireland, our community came together to create a print shop that celebrates the rich heritage of printmaking while fostering creativity and connection. Today, our community print shop continues to inspire, offering a weekly open studio and immersive opportunities for teens and adults, and is also a place where we publish books and cards that spread the message that life is a gift and it is our responsibility to take care of it.

At the 3rd Annual Wayzgoose Printing Festival we will celebrate the ways the print shop empowers us to use our voices through the printed word to stand up for what we believe in. It will include a letterpress and poetry printmaking workshop from 12:00-4:00 PM and a community printing project from 4:00-5:30 PM where participants will have the opportunity to print what they stand for through various mediums. These workshops will be followed by an Irish meal from 6:00-7:00 PM and a concert from 7:00-8:30 PM with the Irish band Mist on the Mountain.

Mist on the Mountain is an Irish Traditional Music group based in the New River Valley of southwest Virginia. From lively jigs and reels to heartbreaking laments and rollicking ballads, Mist on the Mountain provides great Irish music for any occasion.

The cost ranges from $20.00-$50.00 and depends on how much of the festival you will be able to attend.
