The Christiansburg Department of Parks and Recreation and Town of Christiansburg presents the Annual Getting Scary on the Huckleberry 5k, One Mile Kids Fun Run and Truck or Treat on Saturday, October 25, 2025 starting and ending at the Christiansburg Recreation Center.

Race Day Schedule:
• 8:45 AM: One Mile Kids Fun Run
• 9:00-11:30 AM: Trunk or Treat
• ~9:00 AM: 5k Walk / Run begins (Immediately after Fun Run)

Come dressed up in your favorite costume and ready to have fun! Getting Scary on the Huckleberry race participants begin and end the 5k at the Christiansburg Recreation Center. There will also be a free Kid's Fun Run for ages 10 and under. As an added bonus, after the 5k, participants can enjoy a free breakfast prepared by Parks and Recreation staff including their famous pumpkin pancakes.

Trucks from Christiansburg Fire, Police, Rescue, Public Works and more will be stationed in the back parking lot of the Recreation Center for kids and kids at heart to look at and touch. Admission to Truck or Treat is free and participating organizations will be handing out candy.

Registration for the 5k is $30.00 and the Kid's Fun Run is free.

Race day registration for the races is allowed, but we strongly encourage you to register before the day of the race.

The 5k is open to ages 9 and older and the Kid's Fun Run is for ages 10 & under.

Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age group. Don't forget your costumes because there will be awards given for those, too!

Strollers are welcome however participants with strollers will need to start at the back. No animals will be allowed on the race course.
