Sustainable Blacksburg continues their Lunch and Learn series with the theme "Sustainable Forestry" on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at the Blacksburg Library.
Bring your lunch and join Sustainable Blacksburg for the final 2025 installment of our Lunch and Learn series in partnership with Blacksburg Library.
Jason Rutledge, founder and current President of the Board of Directors of Healing Harvest Forest Foundation, a non-profit "tree-roots" organization, will teach us about restorative forestry and community-based sustainable forestry initiatives. Learn about the use of animal-powered (horse, mule, oxen) extraction of logs and "worst first" single tree selection of individual trees in timber harvesting.
All are welcome.
