Description:
The Blacksburg Museum and Cultural Foundation and St. Luke & Odd Fellows Hall Events Committee presents the 12th Annual New Town Festival: Blues, Brews and BBQ on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Historic St. Luke and Odd Fellows Hall.
Join us for our annual Blues, Brews, & BBQ event at St. Luke & Odd Fellows Hall, a nationally recognized historic landmark that once served as the social center of New Town, a neighborhood for Black residents during segregation. Learn about the special history of this neighborhood from former residents and support the building's upcoming restoration and exhibit redesign.
The Hall is the last building standing and serves as an important reminder of the resilience, pride, self-reliance, and community spirit of the people who lived there, as well as the legacy of injustice that segregation imposed. The Blues, Brews, and BBQ event recalls some of the happier times in New Town, when friends and neighbors would gather for dancing, community, and fellowship.
Enjoy live music from The JoJo Stockton Project, Lady D and Mi$$ion and The Blue Monday Band.
Performance Schedule:
• 12:30-1:30 PM: The Blue Monday Band
• 2:00-3:00 PM: The JoJo Stockton Project
• 3:30-4:30 PM: Lady D and Mi$$ion
As band leader and guitarist for Hott Sauce, Franklin County native JoJo Stockton is no stranger to the Roanoke music scene, where he currently is based. If you’re a fan of neo-soul, R&B, funk or old school music, make plans to see JoJo Stockton.
