The YMCA at Virginia Tech presents their 2025 Welcoming Week: "Stories We Share" Art Reception on Thursday, September 18, 2025 inside the Y Community Gallery.
The Y Community Gallery is currently hosting a special art show titled "Stories We Share", an exhibition celebrating the diverse voices and cultures within our international community. The show feature work that explores themes of belonging, identity, migration, and shared humanity.
Join us for a special show reception where you can meet the artists while enjoying delightful refreshments made by Chef Daniel of the Y, resources and more!
The reception is free and open to all.
The show is open from September 1st through October 25th. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, on Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and on Sundays from 12:00-5:00 PM.
Welcoming Week brings New River Valley neighbors of all backgrounds together to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places. The YMCA at Virginia Tech is proud to host our 4th annual Welcoming Week.
Welcoming Week is an annual campaign that celebrates the work in communities to become welcoming places for all, including immigrants. Launched in 2012 by Welcoming America and its members, Welcoming Week provides individuals and organizations the opportunity to showcase their values through events and initiatives that foster connections and collaboration between immigrants and non-immigrants, as well as belonging for all.
The YMCA at Virginia Tech launched its Welcoming Initiative in 2021 in collaboration with Welcoming America as part of the Rural Welcoming Initiative. Join us in welcoming and strengthening belonging for newcomers and immigrants in our community!
