Blacksburg Books presents their fist event in their Experts Next Door series titled "Lecture with Paleontologist Emily Keeble" on Friday, September 12, 2025.

We’re starting a new lecture series featuring experts in our community! These are academics, master crafters and other local smartypants.

Our inaugural lecture will be from paleontologist and Virginia Tech PhD candidate Emily Keeble.

Emily is a vertebrate paleontologist studying the teeth of 215 million year old animals. She'll be talking about fieldwork in the American southwest, how tiny but important fossils are discovered in the lab, and a new species of extinct shark.
