Blacksburg Parks and Recreation presents National Public Lands Day Invasive Plant Pull on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Heritage Park in Blacksburg, VA.
Join Blacksburg Parks and Recreation as we celebrate National Public Lands Day with a volunteer invasive plant pull. We will remove invasive plants that are taking over the forest along the Gateway Trail.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own tools (loppers, pruners, hand saws), gloves, and eye protection. No power tools will be allowed. This equipment will be provided for those who do not have tools. Clothing and footwear should be adequate for outdoor work. Please bring plenty of water!
This event is free to join and all are welcome.

Volunteers will meet in the lower Heritage Park lot located at 2701 Meadowbrook Drive in Blacksburg, VA. From there, we will walk across the street and up the Gateway Trail to remove invasive plants that are taking over the forest around the trail entrance.
This event is rain or shine, except in the case of severe thunderstorms, at which point a cancellation email will be sent to those who have registered.
Heritage Park is located at 2300 Glade Road in Blacksburg, VA.
