Citizens Telephone Coop presents a Free Community Concert with Jerry Wimmer's Bottom of the Barrel on Saturday, October 18, 2025 in their vehicle shelter.
Enjoy food trucks, axe throwing and the Floyd Rotary Chili Cook-Off along with live music from Bottom of the Barrel!
Bottom of the Barrel is led by the talented Jerry Wimmer, long time front man & lead singer for The Worx featuring both members from Southwest Virginia bands The Worx and Fuzzy Logic.
Bottom of the Barrel combines the talents of local musicians who you will recognize as having all played with former popular local bands! This group of talented musicians have been entertaining audiences for 30 years. The professional musicianship, variety, and versatility will impress the hardest critics and leave you wanting to see more.
The Floyd Rotary Club invites the public to join the annual Floyd
Rotary Chili Cookoff. Chili tasting starts at 5:00 PM and the judging is at 6:00 PM with the winners announced shortly afterward. This year’s friendly fundraiser will benefit Floyd County EMS, Floyd Volunteer Fire Department, and, for the first time, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department, which joins as both a new competitor and beneficiary. The Sheriff’s Department’s addition makes this year’s cookoff a spirited three-way competition among Floyd County’s first responder teams.
Guests can sample chili from all three competing departments for free. The public is encouraged to purchase $1.00 voting tickets to help determine the People’s Choice Award with all ticket proceeds going to the winning organization. A separate panel of judges will decide the Judges’ Award. Donations are encouraged, and 100% of donations and sponsorships will directly benefit all three organizations.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Bring your lawn chairs and get ready for an amazing night of music, food, friends and fun!
Citizens Telephone Coop is located at 220 Webbs Mill Road in Floyd, VA.
