Historic Smithfield presents a Halloween Celebration titled "Haunting Tales & Harvest Traditions" on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Step back in time this Halloween at Historic Smithfield for Haunting Tales and Harvest Traditions, a festive, family-friendly celebration steeped in Appalachian folklore, colonial customs, and early American storytelling.
Event Highlights include:
• Kids’ Costume Contest with Prizes
• Live Music by Corbin Hayslette and his New River Buddies (12:00 PM)
• Apple Cider Pressing
• Walking Tours of the Preston Family Cemetery
• Living History Demonstrations featuring Blacksmithing, Spinning, Colonial Militia Displays
• Herbal booth with CJ from Jean’s Apothecare
• Old-Time Crafts: Turnip Carving, Candle Dipping, Grapevine Wreaths, and more
• Meet a Pony (generously provided by Katie & Jef Graham)
• Live Historical Performance by Proclamation Theatre (11:00 AM)
• Pop-up Bookshop featuring Spooky Reads from Blacksburg Books
• Fall Treats & Local Vendors Offering Autumnal Goods
