The Blacksburg Farmers Market continues their regular farmers market with a special Watercolor Wednesday and Paul Heilker in concert on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Market Square Park.

It's a special Watercolor Wednesday at the Farmers Market with the theme "Finding the Milky Way" from 3:00-5:00 PM led by Virginia Tech's Perspective Art Gallery. Enjoy the process of painting whether you have experience or not. Join us in our new social practice exhibit "Finding the Milky Way" and learn why dark skies at night are important to the world. We will provide materials to create a celestial body that you may donate to the exhibit to be held at the Perspective Art Gallery in 2026. The event will also occur on Wednesday, August 20th at the same time.

Paul Heilker will perform from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Paul Heilker is a singer, songwriter, guitar player with 40 years of live musical experience. He writes and performs acoustic originals which feature strong melodies, lucid lyrics and a wide range of musical influences including rock, country, folk, jazz and pop.

"I'm a guitar player, singer, writer, and teacher from Blacksburg, VA by way of Chicago, Fort Worth, Fort Collins, and Wantagh, Long Island.

My parents met at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City in the late 1940s. My dad was a music teacher who insisted that there was good music in every genre. Hence, my tastes are pretty eclectic, but I am partial to the well-crafted song, whatever its origins."

The Blacksburg Farmers Market is open every Saturday April through October from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Market Square Park in downtown Blacksburg, VA. The Wednesday Market is open from April through November from 2:00-6:00 PM. From November-December, the Saturday hours change to 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM. From January-March, the Saturday hours change to 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Market Square Park is located at 100 Draper Road in Blacksburg, VA.
