Description:
Warm Hearth Village continues their Health Connections series with the theme "The Sleeping Brain" on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Warm Hearth Village Center.
Ever wondered what your brain is really up to while you sleep?
We sleep over one third of our lives, yet the exact function of sleep remains a mystery. This talk will introduce the audience to the basics of sleep and how scientists study sleep, some scientific beliefs about the functions of sleep and the role of sleep in memory and how sleep changes over one's lifetime and the implications these changes have for the putative functions of sleep.
Join Dr. Sujith Vijayan, Harvard-trained neuroscientist and Virginia Tech professor, for "The Sleeping Brain", an enlightening talk on how sleep shapes memory, cognition, and overall wellness. He’ll also share insights into an exciting sleep study happening right here at Warm Hearth Village!
Warm Hearth Village Center is located at 2387 Warm Hearth Drive in Blacksburg, VA.
