The Floyd Center for the Arts presents the 3rd Annual Floyd Living Traditions Festival on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at The Floyd Center for the Arts.
Enjoy a celebration of Floyd County’s traditional art and music, honoring the region’s rich cultural heritage through live demonstrations, performances, hands-on workshops, and more with two stages of music & dance, 70+ craft demonstrations, storytelling, kids activities, and a community gathering where the old inspires the new.

• A beer garden
• Local food favorites like home-cooked pinto beans & cornbread
Live Demonstrations:
Watch nearly 70 artists showcase time-honored Appalachian skills: basketry, chair making, corn husk dolls, broom-making, luthiery, spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, woodworking, pottery, soap making, letterpress, quilting, tintype photography, storytelling, and more.
Performances:
Enjoy traditional music on the outdoor stage and interactive song and dance presentations indoors with all curated by Handmade Music School.
Exhibitions:
Explore contemporary and historical expressions of Appalachian craft in our gallery spaces.
Workshops:
Try your hand at traditional skills in short workshops led by regional artists.
Admission and parking are free.

The Festival Kickoff at the Floyd Country Store Friday Night Jamboree, August 22nd starting at 5:30 PM.
The event is rain or shine.
