Blacksburg Books presents Shark Day on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

The Discovery Channel’s annual Shark Week kicks off on July 20th this year and we’re getting in on the action with Shark Day along with other downtown Blacksburg businesses!

Live Wire Tattoo will be offering shark-themed flash tattoos from noon to 6:00 PM.

Get yourself a sharky beverage at Twisted Liquid from 5:00-10:00 PM. Enjoy $10.00 cocktails including Blood & Sands and The Shark Cage.

And we’ll be hosting Jeremy Jenrette, a Virginia Tech grad student studying sharks, for a presentation packed with shark fun facts starting at 7:00 PM, followed by a quick round of shark trivia!

We will, of course, have our best shark books on display for y’all all week as well.
